Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Moshi town. Meet your climbing guide for a pre-trek briefing and equipment check. Overnight at a hotel in Moshi.

Day 2: Moshi to Machame Camp

Drive to Machame Gate (1,800 m) and begin your hike through lush rainforest. Enjoy the first sights and sounds of the mountain before reaching Machame Camp (3,000 m).

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Climb through moorland terrain with spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau. Arrive at Shira Camp (3,840 m) and rest under the stars.

Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp

Ascend to Lava Tower (4,630 m) for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960 m) nestled below the Barranco Wall. A rewarding day of “climb high, sleep low.”

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Climb the famous Barranco Wall, enjoying thrilling views. Continue through alpine landscapes to Karanga Camp (4,035 m) for rest and acclimatization.

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Hike steadily toward Barafu Camp (4,640 m), your base for the summit attempt. Prepare your gear and rest early before the midnight climb.

Day 7: Summit Day & Descent to Mweka Camp

Begin your ascent around midnight, reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) at sunrise. Celebrate your achievement, then descend via Mweka Camp (3,100 m) for a well-deserved rest before returning to Moshi.
